About
I am a native Californian, a painter of hard-edge contemporary realism. An early influence was the Art department of Immaculate Heart College directed by Corita Kent. I continued to study at various art institutes and workshops while raising a large family. I respond to the unique personalities and characters of people and landscapes – human faces or the desolate and beautiful hills of California.
There is an intense bond formed between the artist and the subject, much like being in love - obsession, imagination, a desire to know everything. For me, Art is the expression of that bond.
